Wind Anemometers
By Admin | October 14, 2009
A anemometer is a device that is most often used for measuring wind speed, and is one instrument often used in a weather station. It is used for both weather forecasting and reporting as well as in home weather monitors. The term is derived from the Greek word anemos, literaly meaning wind.
Wind Anemometers can be divided into one of two classes. Those that measure the wind’s velocity (speed) and those that measure the wind’s pressure. Since there is a correlation between the pressure and the speed, an anemometer designed for one will give information about both.
